Between Sea and Forest

Between Sea and Forest – A new exhibition by David Baker at the Red House Museum, Christchurch, Dorset from 23 July – 20 August 2016.

As a development of the long term Ridge Trees project that concentrates on a specific area of the New Forest, I have taken the forms, textures and attributes of the sea into this work. Bracken is seen as tumbling surf, fallen trees as crashing waves, and the deep blues and greens of a winter morning echo the colour of the deep cold sea.
